The Japanese Yen depreciates
20 years later, The Japanese yen has depreciated significantly against the US dollar.
In Japan, the US dollar rose to 135.19 against the dollar. In 2002, the dollar rose to 135.20 against the Japanese yen, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei stock index hit a two-week low.
It stood at 2.8% last weekend.
The Japanese Yen is the third largest currency used in global trade. Foreign media say that the main reason for the devaluation of the yen is the wide change in interest rates.
