Nobel Peace Prize to humanitarian activists
This year’s Nobel Peace Prize was shared between human rights activists from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.
In Oslo, the capital of Norway, the Norwegian Nobel Institute announced the winners of the Peace Prize, explaining that Belarusian human rights activist Ales Bialiatsky, the Russian Human Rights Protection Organization and the Ukrainian civil liberties human rights group will receive the 2022 Nobel Prize.
Belarus, Russia and Ukraine are neighboring states. Belarus and Russia are allies, while Ukraine is more friendly to Belarus and Russia than to Western European states. Currently, Russian troops have invaded Ukraine with the help of Belarus as well, on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin. There was also a rumor that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will receive the Nobel Peace Prize this year.
