Today is International Nurses’ Day

Today marks International Nurses’ Day at a time when the value of healthcare is being recognized around the world.

That is, the nursing introduced by Florence Nightingale, making it an essential factor for the survival of the world.

World Nursing Day was declared on May 12 in honor of Florence Nightingale, who contributed to the world of nursing.

This was in accordance with a decision taken by the International Council of Nurses in 1899.

Since 1939, with the establishment of a formal nursing service, Sri Lanka has also celebrated Nurses’ Day in honor of the generation of nurses who care day and night for the sick.

Nurses have been at the forefront of the fight against the corona epidemic, even risking their lives.

Out of the hearts of humanity beyond duty, the 36,000 nurses in this country are doing their job without even a break.
