The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warns that carbon dioxide levels in the Earth’s atmosphere have risen to record highs.
According to a report released by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, carbon dioxide levels on Earth have risen by 50 percent since the Industrial Revolution, the highest level since June 3.
Carbon dioxide also contributes to global warming.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration measures the level of carbon dioxide on Earth based on data obtained from a meteorological station located on Mount Mona Loa in Hawaii. Mona Loa is a dormant volcano.
