Arrest Warrant Issued for Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee Chairman Upul Tharanga

The Matale High Court has issued an arrest warrant for Upul Tharanga, Chairman of the Selection Committee at Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and former Sri Lankan cricketer, on October 8. The warrant was issued after Tharanga failed to appear in court for a match-fixing case related to the 2024 Legends Cricket Tournament.

Interestingly, the case was initially filed by Tharanga himself. However, reports suggest that he left the country for cricket-related duties without informing the court of his absence. This has led to the arrest warrant being issued due to his failure to attend the court proceedings.
