Government Issues Gazette Notification on 2025 Aswesuma Welfare Payments
The government has released a Gazette notification detailing the monthly payment structure for beneficiaries of the “Aswesuma” welfare program in 2025. The new scheme outlines financial assistance across four categories based on need, providing targeted support to vulnerable groups.
Monthly Payment Structure (2025):
- Extremely Poor: Rs. 17,500 (January–June)
- Poor: Rs. 10,000 (January–June)
- Vulnerable: Rs. 5,000 (January–December)
- Transitional: Rs. 5,000 (January–March)
This announcement marks the rescission of the previous Aswesuma payment scheme, issued on May 17, 2024. While the new framework will take effect in 2025, beneficiaries of the prior scheme will continue receiving payments through December 31, 2024, especially those whose disbursements were delayed.
For applicants yet to be selected, payments will commence once their eligibility is confirmed. This includes individuals who have lodged appeals or are undergoing investigations to verify their qualifications.
The revamped welfare program underscores the government’s commitment to addressing economic challenges faced by vulnerable groups while ensuring transparency and fairness in disbursement. Beneficiaries and new applicants are urged to stay informed about updates to the program.
The Aswesuma welfare program plays a critical role in providing financial stability to those most in need, and these revisions aim to enhance its efficiency and reach in 2025.
