Education authorities meet today to decide on holding schools next week.

Education authorities are scheduled to meet this morning (25) to decide on the resumption of schools next week.
Secretary to the Ministry of Education Nihal Ranasinghe said that this special meeting will be held at 8.30 am today at the Ministry of Education.

The Minister of Education, Additional Secretaries to the Ministry, Principals of many national schools and many other education authorities are scheduled to participate in this event.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Education stated that a decision will be taken on whether to hold schools next week or not based on the data of the island wide survey conducted last week on the attendance of teachers and students in schools island wide.

Schools in Colombo and suburbs were closed last week due to fuel shortages.
