Many trade unions on strike

Many unions are currently on strike.
It is aimed at expressing displeasure with the government for aiding and abetting violence.

The Sri Lanka Administrative Services Association said that its members have decided to resign from all duties from today (10) until further notice.

Accordingly, the district and regional coordinating committees that have been appointed have decided not to accept any further meetings and to refrain from attending any meetings attended by politicians.
Meanwhile, the health workers have also decided to go on strike from 12 midnight yesterday, said the President of the Health Professionals Association Ravi Kumudesh.

Dr. Prasad Ranaweera, a member of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) said that the token strike that began yesterday to protest the attack on peaceful protesters will continue until 8.00 am today.

Several railway unions also went on strike from midnight yesterday.
