One of American bank files lawsuit against Sri Lanka
According to the Daily Mirror website, an American bank has filed a lawsuit against Sri Lanka over its decision to default on its debt, which is facing a severe economic crisis.
The case against Sri Lanka has been filed in the New York Federal Court by the Hamilton Reserve Bank.
Hamilton Reserve Bank holds more than $ 250 million in 5.875 percent of Sri Lanka’s international sovereign bonds.
Hamilton Reserve Bank has filed a lawsuit alleging that Sri Lanka must pay the principal and interest in full.
