Passenger transport begins under restrictions

The Railway Department says that due to the prevailing situation the train will resume running at 8.00 am today (12).

Its General Manager Dhammika Jayasundara stated that only a limited number of trains will run between Veyangoda and Kalutara.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Transport Board has decided to add a limited number of buses to the provinces only.

Its chairman, Kingsley Ranawaka, said there was not enough time to run buses between provinces during the curfew.

However, the Director General of the National Transport Commission, Commander Nilan Mirinda stated that private buses will ply between the provinces today.
