The Air Force said that an Air Force plane was provided early today (13) to the President along with his wife and two bodyguards to leave from Katunayake to the Maldives in accordance with the government’s request.
In a statement, the Air Force Headquarters said that at the request of the Government, which is vested in an Executive President under the Constitution, an Air Force plane was provided to the President, his wife and two bodyguards to depart for the Maldives subject to the full approval of the Ministry of Defense subject to airport immigration, customs and all other laws. means
Meanwhile, foreign media had reported this morning that President Gotabaya Rajapakse had left for Male, the capital of the Maldives, in an Antonov 32 aircraft belonging to the Air Force.
The BBC news service also reported that the plane carrying the President and his entourage left the country at around 1.45 this morning and reached the capital of Male at around 3.00 in the morning.
