We will not leave Sri Lanka in difficult times… European Ambassadors told to Sri Lankan President

Ambassadors of European countries have told President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa today (24) that they will continue to support Sri Lanka in difficult times.
The ambassadors said that EU countries should treat Sri Lanka as a friend.

The EU delegation further stated that Sri Lanka could easily assist the international community in sending a firm message on the future plans of the economy at a meeting held at the Presidential Palace in Fort this morning.

President Rajapaksa said that 75% of the country’s population is engaged in agriculture and providing them with the necessary fertilizer and fuel would solve many problems as well as the provision of food.

A statement from the Presidential Media Unit stated that the President had briefed the EU Ambassadors on the need to provide long-term solutions to the post-war humanitarian situation and to ensure that the rule of law prevails without discrimination.

The discussions focused on a number of areas, including investment, tourism and education.
