Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been appointed the new President and King of the United Arab Emirates. The appointment comes after the recent death of former King and President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Mohammed bin Zayed, 61, popularly known as ‘MBZ’, is the third president of the United Arab Emirates and will serve as the new ruler of Abu Dhabi as well as the country’s commander-in-chief. In 2019, the New York Times named Mohammed bin Zayed the Most Powerful Man in the Arab World, pioneering Emirates’ foreign policy reform to expand its foreign investment and make Emirates one of the richest nations in the world.
