Russia has set a date for its withdrawal from the International Space Station, Russian media reported.
Dmitry Rogosin, head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, said in an interview with Russia-24 that Russia’s decision to exit the space shuttle should be made a year before the International Space Station’s departure.
During the interview, Russian officials said they had set a deadline for leaving the International Space Station, but could not talk about it in public.
He added that the operation of the International Space Station will be decided by the Russian government and the President, and that Roscosmos will be allowed to operate on the space station until 2024.
The head of Roscosmos added that Russia also hopes to present plans to launch its own space station during the remainder of its stay on the International Space Station.
