Mosadeq joins Bangladesh Test squad

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named all-rounder Mosadek Hossain in the squad for the first match of the two-match Test series against the touring Sri Lanka cricket team.

Mossadegh has been called up to strengthen the team’s batting department, having previously missed the tournament due to injury.

Naeem Hassan was added to the squad to replace Hassan. Accordingly, the Bangladesh squad has increased to 17. Mossadegh did not play in any international or domestic matches due to an injury sustained during a first-class match, the last time he played a Test match was in 2019 against Afghanistan. He has yet to play in only three Tests.

However, his performances in the Dhaka Premier League local tournament gave Mosadek a chance to return to the squad. He played 15 matches in that tournament and scored 658 runs and took 16 wickets. Sri Lanka will leave for Bangladesh on the 8th to take part in the World Test Championship and the first Test will be played in Chittagong on the 15th after a 11-12 day training match.
