Sri Lanka won by 9 wickets against Ireland
Sri Lanka won the first match against Ireland in the Super 12 round of the 2022 T20 World Cup by 9 wickets.
The Irish team, who won the toss and batted first, managed to score only 128 runs for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of the scheduled 20 overs.
Harry Tector scored 45 points.
Wanidu Hasaranga and Mahish Thiekshana, who played excellent bowling, took 2 wickets.
Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Mendis built a partnership of 63 runs for the first wicket of Sri Lanka who entered the field to play the reply innings.
Dhananjaya de Silva scored 31 points.
Kusal Mendis, who played a quick innings, and Charit Sasanka, who built an unbroken partnership of 70 runs in 40 balls for the second wicket.
Kusal Mendis scored an unbeaten 68 off 43 balls and that innings included 3 sixes and 5 fours.
Charit was unbeaten on 31 off 22 balls.
Accordingly, at the end of 15 overs, Sri Lanka won the match by losing one wicket.
The next match in which Sri Lanka will participate in the Super 12 round is scheduled to be held tomorrow (25) against the host Australia.
