Gartmore Falls is commonly known as Adams Mountain or Sri Pada Falls because of its proximity to Adam’s Peak. However, this waterfall was also recognized by Gartmore Falls as it inhabits the Gartmore Estate.
Gatmore Falls immediately falls into Maskeliya Reservoir and is fed by two rivers that join above the falls. Before each of these waters connected, a waterfall was created and located in the Gatmore Estate. Hence these two waterfalls are commonly known as the Gatmore Estate Waterfalls.
Different waterfalls of the same height are located several meters away from Gatmore Falls, and feed on the same Maskeliya Reservoir known as Oaks Falls. However, due to the proximity of the two waterfalls, some people confuse the titles of the waterfalls with Moray Falls, also known as Sri Pada Falls.
