A food crisis in Pakistan
There is a fear that a food related crisis may emerge in Pakistan with the Ramadan festival season.
That is with the revelation that there is a shortage of ghee and other cooking oils in the country.
The dollar crisis in the country has been the main reason. Foreign media have also mentioned that if the government fails to control the current situation and bring quick solutions, the price of cooking oil in the market will increase.
Foreign media reports have also indicated that this crisis is emerging due to the failure of commercial banks to open letters of credit and other documents for the clearance of imported goods.
