A video meeting was held between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping based on Taiwan.
Taiwan, an island, was a part of China in the past. Currently, Taiwan has a separate administration, but China still believes that Taiwan is part of China.
America’s support for Taiwan has been a reason for China’s protest. China says that it is also a problem for its national security.
Chinese President Xi Jinping asked American President Biden not to intervene in the Taiwan crisis and to respect the decisions made by China regarding Taiwan.
Chinese President Xi Jinping also explained to US President Biden in a threatening manner that Taiwan’s continued interference in the Chinese crisis is playing with fire.
The video chat lasted for 2 hours and 17 minutes and ended with Biden and Xi Jinping agreeing to meet each other face to face.
Joe Biden became the President of the United States in January 2021. Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping have not had a face-to-face meeting before.
