At least 10 people have been killed and three others injured in a shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, officials say.
The shooter was 18 – year – old Peyton Gendron, a white extremist. Police say he is a resident of Conclin, New York. Peyton Gendron stormed the mall with the intention of killing the blacks. The U.S. military has described Paton Gendron’s attack as a “hate attack.”
Patten is a state-of-the-art automatic firearm used in firing. He was dressed in military uniform. In addition, he was wearing a helmet and a bulletproof vest. The young man broke into the mall and opened fire, spreading the footage live on social media.
Police later said it was a well-planned and inhumane attack and that the youth had a special face mask (gas mask) to protect him from tear gas.
As the young man approached the mall, armed with a firearm, he was intercepted by a black security guard named Alan Salter, who was inside the mall. This security officer is a retired police officer. Salter shot the young man, but the young man was not harmed, as he was wearing a bulletproof vest. The young man then turned and shot Salter, killing Alan Salter.
Peyton entered the mall and opened fire on the blacks. Three employees of the mall were also seriously injured in the shooting. According to hospital sources, the death toll could rise further.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police surrounded the mall. FBI Investigators also arrived at the mall, and police assisted. After a few hours of effort, police were able to capture Paton Gendron alive.
Arrested Paton Gendron was produced in court. He was charged with murder. The American media has reported that Peyton is preparing to deny all those allegations.
‘What happened was a hate murder. Such killings should never be allowed. We should not allow division in the society. We do not condone such barbaric attacks. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of mourners, New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Buffalo Mayor Brian Brown said in a statement.
US President Joe Biden has said in a statement that he was “deeply shocked” by the shooting. A statement from the White House said, “President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have been released on bail.
