Air ban on Taliban officials lifted
The United Nations says it has decided to lift the air ban imposed on 13 high-ranking officials of the Afghan Taliban government.
The United Nations has informed the United Nations Security Council about this, and the Security Council will take the final decision regarding the 13 Taliban officials.
The United Nations and the United Nations Security Council have imposed sanctions on 135 members of the Taliban, including these 13, because they posed a threat to Western countries and Westerners as terrorists.
After the American troops left Afghanistan last year, the Taliban established a government, and the government’s ministers and high positions in government offices are held by Taliban members who were sanctioned.
