Biden-Modi-Albanese to Japan
Tokyo is hosting the Quad Defense Summit, a four-nation summit between the United States, Japan, India and Australia, which will be attended by US President Joe Biden, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australia’s new Prime Minister Anthony Albanis.
Joe Biden arrived in South Korea last weekend on an Asian tour to attend the US Presidential Summit. The US President arrived in Tokyo from Seoul, South Korea.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tokyo last night (22). A delegation from the Indian government is also expected to accompany Modi on the visit. Meanwhile, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is also there.
The Prime Minister of India received a warm welcome from the Government of Japan. Modi will stay in Tokyo for two days to attend the summit and attend several other events. According to Indian media reports, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also scheduled to meet the Indian community in Japan.
The main objective of the Quad Security Cooperation Summit is to ensure security in the Asian Ocean region. Security threats in the Asian Ocean region come from North Korea and China. North Korea is once again testing long-range missiles and nuclear missiles. This is a threat to regional security. This will be the focus of the Quad conference.
A special meeting between US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to coincide with the Quad Summit. That is, in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. In that crisis, the United States opposes Russia and publicly supports Ukraine, while India does not support either side. However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on Russia to end the conflict and resolve the crisis peacefully.
Anthony Albanese, who won the Australian general election over the weekend, is attending his first foreign trip since being sworn in as Australian Prime Minister.
The new Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with US President Joe Biden, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to strengthen bilateral ties. Anthony Albanese was sworn in as Prime Minister this morning (23), leaving for Tokyo a few hours later.
