British writer Salman Rushdie, who was stabbed in New York, is in a critical condition
A representative of British writer Salman Rushdie, who was stabbed in New York, is in serious condition.
The representative said that Rushdie is currently being treated with the help of a ventilator and is unable to speak.
Rushdi has sustained serious stab wounds to his neck and abdomen.
Rushdie’s agent also announced that he would lose one of his eyes.
British author Salman Rushdie had been receiving death threats from Islamic organizations for years due to his 1988 book The Satanic Versus.
The man who committed the stabbing, 24-year-old Hadi Matar, has been arrested in New Jersey, America.
However, no organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack on Rushdie.
