China’s support for oil exploration
Taliban rulers have entered into an agreement with a Chinese company for oil drilling in the northern parts of Afghanistan.
This is considered to be a major agreement made by the Taliban government, which was established after the American troops left Afghanistan, with the aim of meeting the country’s energy needs.
In addition to this agreement signed for twenty-five years, foreign media reports have indicated that a Chinese state-owned company has also signed an agreement to mine a copper deposit in the eastern part of Afghanistan.
It is estimated that the value of Afghanistan’s fuel, natural gas, and minerals including copper exceeds trillions of US dollars.
