Crown to Charles

The BBC news service says that Prince Charles will be officially crowned as King Charles III today (10) at St. James’s Palace in London.

About 700 people will have the opportunity to participate in the coronation ceremony.

The BBC news service reported that due to the death of the Queen, Prince Charles will immediately inherit the British crown and he will hold the British crown as King Charles III.

The BBC pointed out that although Prince Charles will receive the crown immediately, there will be a number of practical and traditional steps to complete before he can be crowned king.

At the coronation ceremony, Prince Charles is due to be sworn in as King tomorrow (10) in front of the world, where the Archbishop of Canterbury will present the mace to Prince Charles and then place the golden crown on Prince Charles’ head, officially crowning Prince Charles as King Charles III.

The BBC news service mentioned that just because Prince Charles became the king, Prince William does not automatically get the title of ‘Prince of Wales’ and it is a decision of King Charles III whether to give it to Prince William or not.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday (8) at Balmoral Palace in Scotland. She was 96 years old when she left this world. She held the crown of Britain for 70 years.
