Delhi’s air pollution is on the rise

After the Diwali celebrations, the Indian capital of New Delhi is covered in toxic smog, and the air pollution in the city is higher than ever, warns the international company ‘IQ Air’, which studies the quality of the atmosphere.

New Delhi is considered to be one of the leading cities in the world in terms of air pollution. Due to this, Delhi authorities have taken steps to ban fireworks for Diwali celebrations.

Even though possession and lighting of firecrackers was banned, New Delhi residents celebrated Diwali by lighting them in the wee hours of the morning, police said. New Delhi has a population of 20 million. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that all efforts to reduce air pollution have failed so far.
