The Taliban government has issued a notice to the Herat City Motor Vehicle Department not to issue driving licenses to women in Afghanistan.
Herat is home to the largest number of Afghan women drivers. “The Taliban government has told us not only to train women but also to issue them driving licenses.” Said Jan Akasai, head of the Department of Motor Vehicles in Herath.
Driving schools in Herath are run by the city’s Department of Motor Vehicles.
