The Central Government of India has announced a reduction of 9.5 Indian rupees per liter of petrol and 7 rupees per liter of diesel in order to provide relief to the poor and middle class in India affected by rising inflation.
It is also said that according to a concept of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Ujwala Scheme’ has been launched to provide gas cylinders to women from poor families.
Under the ‘Ujwala Scheme’, beneficiaries will receive up to 12 gas cylinders a year, with a government subsidy of Rs. 200 per cylinder.
Accordingly, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder in Mumbai and Delhi is Rs. 1,003.According to the Indian media, the beneficiaries of the ‘Ujwala Scheme’ will get a gas cylinder for Rs. 803 under a concession of Rs. 200.
Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman has announced a reduction of Rs. 8 per liter of petrol and Rs. 6 per liter of diesel on the 21st.
As a result, the price of a liter of petrol will be reduced by 9.5 Indian rupees and the price of a liter of diesel by 7 rupees.
Accordingly, the new price of a liter of petrol in Delhi will be 96.72 Indian rupees and the new price of a liter of diesel will be 89.62, Indian media reported.
However, the Indian media has further pointed out that the sale of fuel at the new prices had not started till yesterday (23).
