Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his willingness to open a gas pipeline from Russia to Pakistan.
The Russian President has expressed his wish in this way while meeting the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Conference, which is being held in Samarkand, the capital of Uzbekistan. This is the first meeting between Shehbaz Sharif and Russian President Putin after assuming the office of Prime Minister.
Pakistan is currently facing a severe economic crisis. Pakistan also faced severe flooding due to heavy monsoon rains recently. The death toll from the floods is over 1,500.
