Imran Khan apologizes

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was accused of criticizing a judge and threatening her, apologized for it.

Pakistani media has reported that Prime Minister Imran Khan went to the Islamabad Supreme Court and met the bench including Chief Justice Athar Minalla and asked for forgiveness and later met the judge Shoba Chaudhary who was accused of threatening him and asked for forgiveness from her.

In contempt of court, Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan was accused of threatening Justice Shoba Chaudhry based on a statement the former prime minister made at a public rally in the capital Islamabad last August.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan made this statement after Judge Shoba Chaudhry ordered the remand of Shabaz Gill, the leader of his Tariq e Insaf party.

Pakistani political analysts point out that if former Prime Minister Imran Khan had been found guilty of the case against him, without apology, he would have been banned for 5 years.
