India will have the largest population in the world in 2023
By next year, India will overtake China to become the world’s most populous country, according to the latest report released by the United Nations on World Population Prospects.
The report further states that, albeit very slowly, the total world population will approach the 8 billion limit by November 15, 2022.
This is the slowest population growth rate recorded after 1950, the UN report further stated.
The report further states that the United Nations estimates that the world population will grow to 8.5 billion by 2030, 9.7 billion by 2050, and 10.4 billion by 2080.
The United Nations has further clarified through its report that after the world population reaches the limit of 10.4 billion, it will remain close to it until the year 2100.
