Miss Myanmar to Canada
Miss Myanmar Han Lay, who was angered by the military government for criticizing the military rule in Myanmar, has gone to Canada from Thailand, according to foreign media.
Han Lay represented Myanmar at the Miss Thailand 2021 pageant. It was after the coup that the Myanmar military arrested and imprisoned political leaders of her Democratic Party, including Aung San Suu Kyi.
Han Le, who criticized the military government, could not return to Myanmar. She was staying at the Bangkok airport premises in Thailand until now. The Thai authorities were afraid that she would be deported to Myanmar.
However, foreign media have now reported that Han Lay went to Toronto, Canada on a South Korean plane.
