The city of Chengdu in the Sichuan province of Southeast China is facing an electricity crisis, and as a solution, the city authorities have focused on reducing electricity consumption.
Chengdu is facing an electricity crisis as the dry weather has caused problems to generate hydropower. China is currently suffering from extremely hot weather.
Due to the power cut, shops are said to reduce the opening hours and do away with unnecessary lights, name boards etc.
