Russian President Vladimir Putin has been diagnosed with cancer and is due to undergo surgery, the New York Times reports.
The U.S. media has further reported that President Putin has temporarily handed over his powers to the head of the Security Council, Nikolai Patrosho, due to surgery.
The New York Times quoted American intelligence as saying. US intelligence has learned of a secret telegram from a former Russian intelligence chief.
