Ruins of an ancient Buddhist temple have been found in India
In a forest reserve in India’s Madhya Pradesh state, the remains of an ancient Buddhist temple more than 1,500 years old have been discovered, the Indian Archeology Department said.
Indian archaeologists further explain that the ruins of this Buddhist temple are found with the ruins of a Hindu empire.
At the site where the ruins of the Buddhist temple were found, there are also said to be 26 ruins of Hindu temples, 26 caves, 2 stupas, 24 inscriptions, 46 statues and stone carvings and 19 water ponds.
The remains were found in the Bandavgarh Forest Reserve. This reserve is famous for Indian tigers.
Archaeologists say they found the remains after months of exploration.
It is also said that this area of the forest was explored earlier after 1938.
