Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov in Myanmar
Russian Foreign Minister Sir Ge Lavrov paid an official visit to Myanmar.
Myanmar is considered to be one of the closest to Russia. The Russian Foreign Minister came to Myanmar to hold discussions on economic and security matters with Myanmar military commanders.
Russia is also the main supplier of weapons to the Myanmar government. The re-establishment of a military government in Myanmar took place after a military coup in April last year, ousting the government of Aung San Suu Kyi.
