The name of Turkey changes
100 years after independence, Turkey has decided to change its name to Turkey, with the approval of the United Nations.
Accordingly, Turkey will henceforth be known as ‘Turkey’ Trkiye. Turkey is called ‘Turkey’ in English. This is how Westerners call Turkey.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan decided a few months ago that Westerners would drop the name Turkey. Accordingly, the Turks will henceforth refer to Turkey as ‘Turkey’. UN spokesman Stefan Dujarric issued a special statement confirming this.
Turkey is considered to be the ‘gateway’ to Europe through the African continent and the Middle East. Turkey is a pro-Western state and a close friend of Russian President Putin. Moreover, Turkey is a member of NOTO.
