Watch out for the ‘Marburg’ virus
The Ghanaian health authorities say that they are keeping an eye on the spread of the ‘Marburg’ virus and are informing the World Health Organization about the infected people on a daily basis.
Ghana is an African country, and ‘Murburg’ is a virus reported from African countries. However, the number of people infected with ‘Murburg’ in Ghana is increasing abnormally. This virus spreads very fast.
According to Ghana’s health department, the number of people infected with the ‘marburg’ virus identified in the country as of yesterday (19) is 98. Two deaths are also reported.
The Marburg virus was first identified in 1967 from Germany and then Yugoslavia. The virus spread to Germany and Yugoslavia from monkeys brought from Africa. The virus was already spreading in African countries. This is a member of the Ebola family. Symptoms include fever, chills, and muscle aches
