A virus that damages the human brain from ticks

For the first time, a study conducted in the United States has identified that a disease virus that damages the human brain is spreading due to the bites of ticks in the body of animals.

This disease has been introduced as tick-borne encephalitis virus.

The disease is spread by ticks in England’s Thetfort Forest and Hampshire, according to Public Health England. Currently, this disease is affecting Europe, Scandinavia and Asia.

A disease that first develops as a fever and then damages the brain and nervous system is called encephalitis. However, it is reported that the damage to the man is still minimal and further investigations are being conducted.

They point out that while many areas of the US are tick-infested, it is normal for them to see an increase in ticks due to deer growth. Ticks in the bodies of deer, cats and dogs stay in the body of the people sheltering in the mountainous areas, hide and bite, and because of this, it has been confirmed that allergies and diseases are caused. Experts say these ticks may have been transmitted by migratory birds. However, they say not to be afraid of getting sick from eating a tick.

Doctors say to cover the skin to reduce tick bites, to wash the place well when bitten, and to seek treatment if red spots or fevers that can be thought to have been caused by tick bites have been seen in the last month or so.
